The Complete TapMogul Strategy Guide

1. Getting Started — Your First 10 Minutes

TapMogul opens with a single big button: TAP TO EARN. Every tap earns you $1 of in-game cash. There is no tutorial gate — the moment the page loads, you can play. You also do not need an account to start. Your save is stored locally in your browser, and if you want to appear on the leaderboard later you can attach an anonymous Mogul identity (just a display name and an emoji avatar) at any time from the settings drawer.

1. Tap until you can buy your first Side Hustle ($11). The Side Hustle is the first income generator. It earns money for you automatically — no more tapping required to grow your cash from there.
2. Keep tapping while the Side Hustle earns in the background. Use the cash to level up the Side Hustle a few times. Each level multiplies its income.
3. Save up for the Freelance Gig ($150). The second generator earns much faster than levelling the first one further. Buying generators in order is almost always better than maxing a single tier.
4. Now you can stop tapping. Two generators running in parallel will fund the rest. You can switch tabs or even close the page — your generators keep earning offline. Welcome to idle play.

2. Cash vs. Mogul Points — What's the Difference?

TapMogul has two parallel currencies. Understanding which one is which is the fastest way to "get" the late-game.

Cash ($)

Cash is your short-term currency. You earn it by tapping and from your generators. You spend it on generator levels and one-time power upgrades. Cash resets to zero when you prestige. Cash is for the current run.

Mogul Points (MP)

Mogul Points are your permanent long-term currency. You earn MP from prestiging, completing quests, watching rewarded ads (when the prize draw is enabled), and reaching milestones. MP never resets — it carries across every prestige run for the lifetime of your save. Your MP total determines your business tier (Sole Proprietor → LLC → Corporation → Conglomerate) and your standing on the global monthly leaderboard.

Strategy implication: cash is something to spend hard. MP is something to bank.

3. Power Moves and the Rewarded-Ad Loop

Power Moves are the row of yellow buttons at the top of the Generators tab. Each one is an optional rewarded video ad. You watch a short ad — typically 15–30 seconds — and in return you receive an in-game bonus. The five Power Moves are:

• Watch ad → 2× Income (5 min) — doubles all generator income for 5 minutes. Best used right before a long active session, or right after collecting a fat offline payout.
• Watch ad → 5× Tap Power (3 min) — multiplies your per-tap value by 5 for 3 minutes. Best for early-game burst tapping when generators are weak.
• Watch ad → Cash Drop — instant lump-sum payout, scaled to your current income rate. Great for closing the gap on the next generator.
• Watch ad → Free Generator Unlock — bypasses the cash cost of your next generator and unlocks it instantly. Massive value if you are 30%+ of the way to the next tier.
• Watch ad → Skip Cooldown — wipes any active soft-gate timer. Useful when a quest, vault, or generator step is waiting on a timer.

You will never be required to watch a Power Move ad to progress. Every Power Move is gated behind a deliberate user click, and rewards are only granted if you actually finish watching the ad. Dismissing the ad does not grant the reward and does not penalise you — your generators carry on as normal.

4. Generator Upgrade Strategy

The default trap in idle clickers is to over-level a single generator before unlocking the next one. TapMogul rewards a different pattern.

The "buy first, level later" rule

A new generator at level 1 almost always out-earns levelling your current top generator. This is because each new tier of generator earns at a much higher base rate than the previous. So whenever a new generator is in reach (you can afford it within 30 seconds of current income), buy it before you spend on more levels.

When to invest in upgrades

The Upgrades tab unlocks after you reach specific generator levels. Each upgrade is a one-time purchase that applies a global multiplier — sometimes to a single generator, sometimes to all income, sometimes to your tap value. Most upgrades are stronger than another generator level. Treat the Upgrades tab as your top priority once it lights up.

Levelling priority order

1. Buy the next available generator (highest unlocked tier).
2. Buy any unpurchased upgrade you can afford.
3. Level up the top three highest-tier generators in rotation.
4. Only level lower-tier generators if you are completing a quest that requires it.

5. When to Prestige (and When Not To)

Prestige resets your cash and generators in exchange for a permanent income multiplier on all future runs. The prestige tiers are 2× → 5× → 12× → 30×. Each tier also unlocks a new visual theme (Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Elite).

Prestige unlocks the moment you cross the relevant lifetime-earnings threshold. The Prestige tab will glow when you are within reach. The general guidance:

• First prestige: as soon as it unlocks. The 2× multiplier roughly doubles the speed of every future run, so the longer you wait, the longer you are without the boost.
• Subsequent prestiges: when you are within ~50% of the next tier and progress is starting to slow. If you are still doubling your income every couple of minutes, do not prestige yet — you are still gaining value from the current run.
• Late-game prestiges: chase the 30× Elite tier deliberately. Each prestige earns you Mogul Points which are far more valuable in the long run than any single cash run.

6. Maximising Idle Earnings

The "idle" in idle clicker means your generators continue earning when you are not playing. TapMogul rewards regular check-ins.

Offline earnings

Every time you return to the game, you receive a vault payout for the time you were away. The vault has a cap to prevent infinite stockpiling — generally about 8 hours of earnings. If you leave for a full day, you will only collect roughly the first 8 hours' worth.

The 3× Vault Boost

When you collect an offline payout, a "Watch Ad → Collect 3×" option appears. This triples the amount you receive. The standard pattern is: open the game once in the morning, collect 3×, activate a 2× Income Power Move, play actively for 10 minutes, then close the tab again. That four-step routine is the highest cash-per-minute strategy in the game.

PWA install

Install TapMogul as a Progressive Web App from your browser's "Install" or "Add to Home Screen" menu. Doing so gives you a full-screen experience and lets the game continue running even when your browser is closed. You can play offline once installed.

7. Daily Streaks and Weekly Quests

Logging in on consecutive days builds your streak. The streak meter compounds your daily login bonus — after seven days, your bonus is meaningfully larger than it was on day one. If you miss a day, the Streak Shield (a one-use protection) preserves your streak the first time it would break. After that, the streak resets to one and you start over.

Quests refresh weekly. They cover three categories: tapping, generator-buying, and rewarded-ad watching. Each completed quest pays out cash and Mogul Points. Even players who play purely idle should open the game on Sunday or Monday to claim the prior week's rewards before they reset.

8. Climbing the Global Leaderboard

The Moguls tab shows the live monthly leaderboard. Players are ranked by Mogul Points earned within the calendar month. The leaderboard resets at midnight on the 1st of each month. Your business tier (Sole Proprietor / LLC / Corporation / Conglomerate) is based on your lifetime MP and persists across monthly resets.

To compete on the leaderboard you need to claim a Mogul identity — open the settings drawer (gear icon, top right), enter a display name, pick an avatar emoji, and you're on the board. No email, no password, no real name. You can change your display name at any time from the same drawer.

The fastest way to climb is to prestige often during the first half of the month. Each prestige awards a fixed MP amount, and earlier prestiges in the run cycle compound faster than late-month prestiges that won't have time to mature.
