1. Information We Collect

TapMogul collects the following types of information when you play:

Game data: Your game progress, cash totals, generator levels, prestige count, and Mogul Points are stored locally in your browser's localStorage and synced to Google Firebase Firestore when you create a leaderboard identity.
Leaderboard identity: If you choose to appear on the leaderboard, we store a display name and avatar emoji of your choosing. No real name or email is required.
Session data: We collect anonymised session data including a hashed IP address (daily-rotating, non-reversible), browser user agent, and referrer URL for analytics purposes.
Firebase Authentication: We use anonymous Firebase authentication to link your game save to a persistent player ID. No email address or password is required.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected to:

Save and restore your game progress across sessions and devices
Display your rank on the global leaderboard
Calculate Mogul Points and business tier status
Understand aggregate player behaviour to improve the game
Prevent abuse and maintain fair leaderboard rankings

3. Advertising

TapMogul displays advertisements via Google AdSense / Google H5 Games Ads. Google may use cookies and device identifiers to serve personalised ads based on your browsing history. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ad Settings. TapMogul does not receive personally identifiable information from Google's ad system.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. Information may be shared in the following limited circumstances:

Service providers: Google Firebase (data storage and authentication), Google AdSense (advertising)
Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights
Business transfer: In the event of a merger or acquisition, player data may be transferred as a business asset

5. Data Retention

Game save data is retained for as long as your anonymous Firebase account exists. Session analytics data (hashed, non-identifiable) is retained for up to 12 months. You may request deletion of your game data at any time by contacting us at support@playtapmogul.com. Deletion will result in permanent loss of your game progress and leaderboard ranking.

6. Children's Privacy

TapMogul is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are under 18, you are not permitted to use this service. If you believe a person under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@playtapmogul.com and we will promptly delete it. Parents and guardians are encouraged to monitor their children's online activities and prevent use of services that are not age-appropriate.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your data:

Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
Deletion: Request deletion of your game data and anonymous account
Portability: Request your game data in a portable format
Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interests

8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

TapMogul uses the following storage and tracking technologies:

localStorage: Stores your game save data locally in your browser. No cookies are set by TapMogul directly.
Firebase SDK: Uses IndexedDB and cookies to maintain your anonymous authentication session.

You can clear game data at any time using the Settings → Reset option in-game.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Specifically:

Firebase Security Rules: All Firestore data is protected by server-side Firebase Security Rules that restrict read and write access to authenticated anonymous users, preventing cross-user data access.
HTTPS Enforcement: All data transmitted between your browser and TapMogul's servers is encrypted in transit via HTTPS/TLS. Plaintext HTTP connections are automatically redirected to HTTPS.
Anonymous Authentication: TapMogul uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication, which means no email address, password, or real-world identity is linked to your game account. This limits the personal data at risk in the event of a security incident.
No Sensitive Data Storage: TapMogul does not store payment information, government IDs, or financial data of any kind. The only personally identifiable data stored is a display name and emoji voluntarily chosen by the player.
